Dr. Denis Daneman
Denis Daneman was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he attended the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School. He did his residency at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto and fellowship in pediatric endocrinology in Toronto and at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh. He has been on the faculty at the University of Toronto and staff of the Hospital for Sick Children since 1981. He is Professor of Pediatrics, Chief of the Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Pediatrics, and Associate Chief of the Hospital's Research Institute. His major interest is in the factors effecting metabolic control and the early onset of complications in children and teens with type 1 diabetes.
