Dr. Ivy Fettes
Dr. Ivy Fettes is Acting Director of the Division of Endocrinology at Sunnybrook & Women's Health Sciences Centre and Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Univeristy of Toronto.
Dr. Fettes does a combination of clinical practice, teaching and clinical research. She has a special interest in the multiple manifestations of polycystic ovary syndrome including hirsutism, acne, alopecia, irregular menses and infertility. She is co-director of the Mature Women's Clinic and deals with many problems related to menopause and the perimenopause, including irregular menses, hot flashes and hormonal migraine. She is involved in teaching medical students, residents, practicing physicians and nurses, as well as the public. She recently published a book called "Thyroid problems, a Guide for Patients."
Dr. Fettes is the Bioethics representative for Endocrinology at the University of Toronto and plays a major role in integrating ethics into the postgraduate endocrine teaching curriculum. She is currently involved in clinical research in diabetes mellitus.
